Sierra Club started out as a hiking club in the US in 1892. The early members loved hiking in the Sierra Nevada and enjoyed the outdoors. When their favourite places were in danger they turned into an advocacy group to protect the wilderness. The Chinook Group goes back to the roots with regular outings in Calgary and the mountains.
